Zechariah 14:9
The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name.
We must be ready for that day. The end-times prophecy is manifesting.
The prophet Daniel had a vision of seventy periods of seven in Chapter 9. Here, we are told that at the end of these seventy sevens, vision and prophecy will be sealed, and there will be an end to sin. This is the end of our world. The first sixty-nine sevens have already taken place. The sixty-ninth period of seven years ended when the Anointed One, or Christ, was put to death. Daniel then predicts the destruction of Jerusalem, which came in 70 A.D. However, the seventieth period of seven years does not begin until a covenant is made with many nations in the Middle East for a period of seven years. It may seem that, with the recent developments in the Middle East, from the negotiations with Iran to the Abraham Accords, peace is drawing nearer every day, and we must be ready for His return.

We also see from Daniel, Chapter 9, that God plans to give Israel time to complete their transgression against Him, to atone for their wickedness, and then to bring in everlasting righteousness. Daniel is prophesying a revival in Israel. However, we do not know if this will occur between the sixty-ninth and seventieth period of seven years or during the last seven years of the period. Currently, according to the Jerusalem Institute, only 1.7% of the population in Jerusalem is Christian. The Christian population is made up of both Jews and Arabs who have put their faith in Christ.
The prophet Ezekiel, in Chapter 38, prophesies a great war with nations from the North. The Bible mentions areas that are modern-day Iran, Sudan, and Libya. There is another large nation from the North that many scholars believe to be Russia.
Remarkably, this end times prophecy was written in the 6th century BC, and we might expect leaders and nations that sought to disprove Christianity would not allow themselves to be caught off guard by the prophecies. Yet, despite all their efforts to kill Christianity in their own people, their nations continue to move into these prophecies.
These prophecies were written approximately 600 years before Christ's birth and 2,500 years before the present day. If those leaders and nations who hate God and Christianity are helpless to push against the Biblical prophecies, how true must the Bible be, and how important is it for us to believe the Bible and be ready for Christ’s return?
Prayer: Lord, help me not be so fascinated with the global movements of Biblical prophecy that I forget to make You the King of my heart. Amen.
