Zechariah 14:9 (NIV)
9 The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name.
An end is coming.
When we read the words of the prophet Zechariah, we are reminded that there are now many lords. The human race has conjured up many gods, ranging from the earthly idols of money and fame to the false gods of various religions. But there is coming a day when nothing that man might worship will exist. There will be only one Lord. Zechariah is giving us a glimpse into the end when Christ returns to usher in a new age where there is no God but our God.

End times prophecy tells us this day will come upon us like in the days of Noah (Matthew 24:37-39). When the rains began, people were living their lives like any other day, as they had for thousands of years. The day took them by surprise. The same will be when Christ returns. There will be no time left in that moment. We must put our faith in Christ today and be certain of our faith.
We can see the times as they come, but the day and hour are not known to anyone but the Father in Heaven (Matthew 24:36). However, Old Testament prophecy works to create an awareness in us that the time is approaching. We do not know when, but we can see the times, and it is clear the day is coming.
Ezekiel 38 prophesies armies coming from the North to attack Israel, and with these armies are Persia, Cush, and Put. These are modern-day Iran and the Northern African areas of the Sudan and Libya. We have not yet seen the fulfillment of this prophecy, but we do see the movements. Yet, the Lord declares Israel to be an immovable rock against these nations (Zechariah 12:3). Certainly, throughout all of the wars and attacks on Israel, they have become an immovable rock.
Simply looking at the geopolitical movements of our world, especially since Israel received back its land in 1948, it is hard to argue that Biblical prophecy is without supernatural knowledge. And if these prophecies are seen as easily fulfilled, along with all the prophecies already fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ, arguing against the validity of the Bible as the Word of God is somewhat futile. We know this day is coming, and we must be ready.
Lord, help all I know who have yet to put their faith in You, do so. Help me to maintain my faith in You and help others find salvation in You. Amen.
